Zum Abschluss des Jahres startet eine grosse Bauwerkstatt: Die Workshop (Werkstatt) on Wheels (WoW) wird bald wieder richtig mobil. Wir verlassen in absehbarer Zeit unseren aktuellen Werkstattraum in der Adlerhalle am Dragonerareal und benötigen eine flexible Alternative für die Bauwerkstatt. Deswegen kriegt die WoW, ConstructLabs fahrende Werkzeugkiste, eine konstruktive Auffrischung. Nach über 3 Jahren auf Achse in Europa und nun seit etwa 2 Jahren stationär im Baupalast müssen ein paar Teile ausgetauscht werden. So kann die WoW je nach räumlichen Möglichkeiten und Entwicklung des Projektes auf dem Gelände hin und herbewegt werden. Und vielleicht auch mal wieder auf große Reise gehen!

Parallel dazu entwickeln und bauen wir in Kollaboration mit der Fahrradwerkstatt fahrrad3000 eine kleinere Version, die WoW als motorisierter Fahrradanhänger. Damit Berliner Projektorte in der Nähe aber ausserhalb des Baupalastes ebenfalls realisiert und problemlos mit Werkzeug versorgt werden können.

Geplant ist, die beiden WoW’s als offene Werkstätten zugänglich zu machen, wo jede*r registrierte Nutzer*in eigene Projekte verwirklichen oder auch einfach kleine Reparaturen durchführen kann.

Workshop on Wheels (WoW) – Kick-off

At the end of the year a big Bauwerkstatt (building workshop) kicks-off: Workshop on Wheels (WoW) will soon become truly mobile again. We are leaving our current workshop space in the Adlerhalle at the Dragonerareal in the foreseeable future and need a flexible alternative for the construction workshop. That’s why the WoW, ConstructLab‘s traveling toolbox, is getting a constructive refresh. After more than 3 years on the road in Europe and now for about 2 years stationary at the Baupalast, a few parts need to be replaced so that the WoW can be moved back and forth on the site depending on the spatial possibilities and development of the project. And maybe it can be sent on the big journey again!

In parallel, we are developing and building a smaller version, the WoW as a motorized bicycle trailer, in collaboration with the bicycle workshop fahrrad3000. So that Berlin project sites near but outside the Baupalast can also be realized and easily supplied with tools.

The idea is to make the two WoW’s accessible as open workshops, where each registered user can realize their own projects or simply make small repairs.
